Landscapes
I grew up marveling at my grandfather’s astounding ability to paint flowers and local iconic buildings with architectural precision. I always viewed his abilities as being far beyond attainable for myself. So I would just admire his work as an observer while sitting on his office floor as he painted (sometimes taking breaks to play spider solitaire).
It wasn’t until the Covid-19 pandemic that I decided to pick up a paintbrush and work out a few doodles. On a whim I remembered hearing about this “Bob Ross” fella and decided to google his work to see what he was all about. After watching 5 episodes back to back, I was hooked. The idea of “Light against Dark, Dark against Light” just seemed to make perfect sense.
With a new mindset and perspective obtained from watching Bob Ross, I wanted to paint landscapes. More specifically, I began painting all of the different views that I hope to see while hiking and camping. I have a deep rooted love for the natural world and painting helps me to express this love.
Thanks for visiting, please enjoy the latest additions to my collection of works.
